We were recently recruited by an automotive industry customer looking to ship GM-spec bumper covers. The customer required custom designed "Snap-Lock" protective sleeves capable of transporting these easily damaged products safely and securely, requirements that conventional packaging would not satisfy.

We designed a 12.75" by 26.75" by 40C single-wall cardboard insert that would be placed and snap-Locked over the ends of the bumpers for sufficient protection. Combined with dunnage, this would provide a simple, effective, and inexpensive solution. Although we have designed many protective systems in the past, the solution highlighted here performed equally well without the unnecessary expense and material costs of full bumper protection.
